About our Club

We are based in the beautiful town of Hayle in Cornwall. We meet once a month to share finds and hand in finds to the local FLO (Finds Liason Officer) for Cornwall, Anna Tyacke. Finds over 300 years old are recorded in the Portable Antiquities Scheme. The Portable Antiquities Scheme is a DCMS funded project to encourage the voluntary recording of archaeological objects found by members of the public in England and Wales. Every year many thousands of objects are discovered, many of these by metal-detector users, but also by people whilst out walking, gardening or going about their daily work. Potential treasure items are also handed in to Anna.

We are a very active club, with 40 members, meeting up most weekends and we try to have a club dig once a month, land permitting. Our Club Chairman is Graham Dyer. Unfortuanatel;y the club is currently full, if you would like to be placed on our reserve list please contact Club Secretary, Kerrie Love via the Contact Us page.

Many Thanks
